S-160 D Mine Shaft Radio Communication System

The mine shaft radio communication system is desgned for wireless transfer of verbal information between a hoisting machine operator or a cager working at the edge of the shaft and an operator of the mine-cage on any level within the shaft. Moreover, the system enables communication between the operators of the mine-cage and the shaft bottom. Using this radio communication system in mine shafts increases safety during renovation and maintenance works (such as replacing draw ropes, cables, inspection of the shaft lining and shaft equipment) and improves work organization within the shaft district. The implemented system does not interfere with the existing shaft signalling and shaft communication system which complies with applicable regulations.
